It won’t be any surprise if Donald Trump’s plan to arm teachers with guns in a pathetic attempt to combat gun violence and mass shootings backfires tremendously. Most of the country is in agreement that more guns will not make the country safer, and are horrified by Trump’s barely thought out idea. As more and more people call him out for it and prove how bad of a plan it is, Trump is getting increasingly upset and reverting to some of his most childish behaviors.
On Monday, Trump got torn apart in front of everyone by Democratic Washington Gov. Jay Inslee — and the president clearly wasn’t happy about it. Inslee spoke up during a discussion about school safety and gave Trump an earful about his plan to put guns into the hands of teachers and leave them with the responsibility of bringing down mass shooters.
In his tongue lashing, Inslee brought up the very obvious point that most teachers were strongly against Trump’s plan and wanted nothing to do with weapons. He said:
I have listened to the biology teachers, and they don’t want to do that at any percentage. I’ve listened to the first-grade teachers who don’t want to be pistol-packing first-grade teachers. I’ve listened to the law enforcement officials who say they don’t want to train teachers as law enforcement agencies, which takes about six months.”
Inslee also criticized Trump for ignoring the cries of children and teachers, who were begging for the president to find another solution. Inslee then hit the president with a brutal recommendation: “Less tweeting, more listening.” Inslee said:
Now this is a circumstance where I think we need to listen — that educators should educate, and they should not be foisted upon this responsibility of packing heat in first-grade classes. I just suggest that we need a little less tweeting here, and a little more listening.”
In the video below, you can watch Trump act like a total child and throw a mini temper tantrum in front of everyone. While Inslee makes his remarks, Trump crosses his arms, pouts, and changes the subject. This is exactly why he shouldn’t be president:
WOW — Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) challenges Trump to his face on his plan to arm teachers, tells him “we need to listen to educators and they should not be foisted upon this responsibility of packing heat.”
