World-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking died yesterday at age 76 — a far longer and richer life than his condition ever allowed for. But somehow the universe knew we needed him in this age, an enlightened scientist with a sharp wit formed mostly by the tongue he could not use.
There is a lot of wisdom that Hawking left behind, including a formula for actually measuring the entropy of a black hole. Now, I’m not gonna get all science-y on you, so don’t run away.
“Entropy” is kind of a measure of how disordered a system can be — think of it like, remember when you used to know what “disk defrag” was in Windows? All the stuff was scattered around too much on your hard drive and couldn’t be efficiently or properly used? That’s kind of like entropy.
Anyway, all of that is just to draw a parallel between what Hawking considered his greatest equation and what we’re seeing in America right now: The Trump administration is like a black hole, sucking in everything good and light around it. The entropy of that system is the chaos that swirls through the White House as Trump fires stooge after stooge, with no forward progress ever being made because there’s just no order in the madness.
Ironically, Stephen Hawking also produced an equation that explained the entropy in the Trump White House, and it’s much, much simpler than anything with, like, letters with extra lines in them and stuff. He inadvertently plucked it from his brilliant mind 14 years ago, when someone at the New York Times asked him what he estimated his IQ to be:
I have no idea. People who boast about their IQ are losers.”
I mean, that’s a pretty simple formula right there. Take the White House, add a loser, and you get entropy. Everyone knows how much Trump likes to boast about his IQ:
I know some of you may think l’m tough and harsh but actually I’m a very compassionate person (with a very high IQ) with strong common sense

“@RealCoachHodge: @realDonaldTrump has a much higher IQ than idiot John Stewart” That’s true, and by a lot.

I guess Stephen Hawking stumbled across a preventative equation for American elections, and he didn’t even know it.
