Donald Trump displayed another round of his “stable genius” Tuesday when he single-handedly discovered a solution to the MS-13 gang problem.
According to Trump MS-13 is the biggest threat since ISIS. Trump even declared the gang has “literally taken over towns and cities of the United States.”
The situation was starting to look grim until Tuesday, when Trump revealed his grand solution to MS-13 saying, “Whenever they want to come through the border, they come through. We don’t have the wall, we’re never going to solve this problem.”

Yes, that’s right. In Trump’s excuse for a mind, MS-13, a gang so deadly and sophisticated it threatens the very fabric of the United States, can be thwarted with a simple wall. And as usual, Trump couldn’t be more off the mark, or fence post in this case.
As many commenters have quipped, show me a 30-foot high wall, and I’ll show you a 31-foot tall ladder.
But Trump remains convinced that his seventh-century-B.C. strategy is the key to stopping illegal immigration, even frequently referring to the hypothetical border barrier as a “Great Wall”:
The dishonest media does not report that any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!

MS-13 was started in the United States as a means for newly immigrated Salvadorans to protect themselves from more established gangs in L.A. However, many of their key leaders were deported to El Salvador and brought MS-13 back to their home country. With the command structure of the gang safe in El Salvador, they began to order increasingly violent acts in the United States. The Los Angles Times even argues that the United States’ aggressive deportation actually strengthened the gang.
With support for his magical, gang-busting wall faltering, Trump is scrambling to justify every brick. It’s unlikely Trump will ever construct a physical wall, and maybe he even doesn’t want to. After all, a wall of racism is much easier to build, and far easier to maintain.
